We are delighted to share with you this beautiful wedding we were a part of. The wedding was at the Craighouse Campus. After the ceremony the guest enjoyed a lunch followed by our delicious dessert table as part of afternoon tea with the addition of some gorgeous flowers by Planet Flowers. Here are some lovely photos we received for our talented friend Sarah from Sarah Elizabeth Photography.

We have a little snippet of what Sue, the bride, thought of the day…… ”Heather of Heather’s Cakes did such a terrific job. We had quite a long initial chat about what we wanted, she asked about the design and colours of our dresses as well as the room where the table would be. The design called for some height at the back so the traditional wedding cake had three tiers – one decorated like the embroidery on my dress. However, we didn’t really need that much so we only cut the bottom tier, the top was a dummy and we kept the middle tier for Christmas! It was Heather’s suggestion to add flowers to the table. We loved the idea and she made the arrangements herself with our florist, Gemma at Planet Flowers who made gorgeous little posies that matched our bouquets and centre pieces.

We had wanted to offer lots of choices to suit everyone. As well as the traditional fruit cake, we had lemon cake pops, carrot fondant cake bites, gluten free vanilla cupcakes with raspberry jam and vanilla butter cream, double chocolate cake petite fours, French macaroons and sweets in glass jars including bonbons, foam shrimps and marshmallows. Our guests are still talking about it!”

Vintage Lace Cluster

Beautiful vintage inspired wedding cake, with a modern twist. The double depth middle tier gives this cake an unusual shape. The cake is wrapped with lace and decorated with a cluster of hand made sugar flowers. The flowers include roses, ranunculus, and anemones. This cake would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding.

Traditional White Rose

Gorgeous four tiered square wedding cake, iced all in white. The bottom tier is separated by hand made sugar roses and flowers. The cake is also topped with sugarcraft flowers. This cake is stunning and would be perfect for any wedding. It is already becoming one of our most popular designs for 2012.

Black and White Wonky Cake

Funky, four tiered, wonky cake, decorated with white icing and battenburg edge design. The cake is police themed and is covered with black and white photos of the happy couple. There are hand made characters on top made to a bespoke design. Wonky cakes are a great way of adding a personal fun feel to your cake.
